Very PleasedBy J.P.I purchased the Archos 70c ereader as a replacement for my Kindle 3rd generation. The Kindle was great but I needed something more versatile. The Archos allows me to read, listen to my MP3's, watch videos, and surf the net!I've been using it extensively at work for several days and I've not experienced any of the technical difficulties noted in other reveiws. If your looking for a good Ipad or netbook substitute then this isn't what you want, but if your looking for a reasonbly priced ereader with more versatility than the Kindle or Nook than I highly recommend it. The overall size and wheight is rougly the same as that of the Kindle and the touch screen is a cool addition. There's also two opposing buttons on the side of the Archos for manual operation. The menus are easy to navigate and graphics are top notch. The built in speakers are a bit on the mousy side but I hooked it up to my external speakers and was blown away by the sound quality of both mp3's and videos. I've also found reading on the Archos much easier than on the Kindle and I'm averaging roughly 8-9 hours of continuous use with a combination of reading, music and movies. I work a demanding but monotuous job in an auto plant and the Archos gets me through the day!!!!!One note: There is a Kindle app for Android available but it does not function properly with the 70c. The device menu cuts off the top of every page. I contacted both Amazon and Archos and both informed me that it's not the hardware, but the Kindle app that's the problem. The app was designed for the Archos Tablet not the ereader and was formatted for the tablet's longer screen.
